Q There are several commercial dental practice systems available. Why should I buy yours?
A Goodteith perfoms all the key administrative and clinical tasks you will require in the day to day running of your practice at a fraction of the cost of other clinical systems.
Q What is so special about Filemaker Pro?
A Filemaker Pro is a tried and tested database system which is currently in use on seven million computers (and counting) worldwide. It is a system that is known for it’s reliability and ease of use.
Q Is it nurse proof?
A 99%…….. best we can do”
Q Is it dentist proof?
A Only if they promise not to take everything apart to figure out how it all works
Q Where can I buy my hardware?
A Any computer supplier who can set you up with a Microsoft Windows network system - ie. ANY computer supplier. The basic operating systems are the same as any other small business network. We can give you recommendations on what you will need for your particular practice: printers, modems etc.
Q What about support?
A You can telephone the Callander Dental Practice and talk to an experienced user during normal working hours. Most Filemaker Pro problems can be dealt with over the telephone. A hardware/network support contract is entirely up to you. There is also an online users group for sharing ideas, comments, problems etc.
Q Training?
A Yes. We recommend a couple of days in your own practice. The software is very simple to use and should be similar in many ways to your paper system. We will also show you how to keep copies of your files and we will make sure you have a good backup system.
Q Can I contact other users?
A Yes. All our users are willing to discuss their experiences with you. Try not to bother them during apicectomies, but Callander Dental Practice will provide you with contact details. You could also join the user group and talk to all our users directly. The best adverts are users; we don’t want to charge you for using the back page of the BDJ every month!
Q What if I don’t like it?
A Don’t keep it and ask for your money back. Your information can easily export to any other Practice management/clinical system. Any feedback would be invaluable to us for making it better, too.
Q Upgrades?
A Upgrades are provided when fees change and at various other times throughout the year
Q Can I have it now?
A We would like you to come and see it first. It works best in a dental practice; a laptop or a stand at an exhibition is just the brochure. Come and see it working in our practice first and then decide.
Q I live in the USA/Canada/Australia/India/Hong Kong etc etc. Can I have your software?
A No. Apart from anything else, the support would cost us a fortune.
Q I live in Montana on a ranch, and when I’m not filling teeth I’m driving cattle hundreds of miles. Can I have your software?
A Yes! YES! As long as you promise to take us along on your next drive.
